Snow
With a base starting at 1500 meters, Mount Norikura is ideally situated for powder snow that is second to none. It’s varied terrain, long runs, and short lift lines allow people of all levels to enjoy “the ride”, to remember once again what it means to play. NORTHSTAR’s LTR (learn to ride) teaching method and rentals gets you started in this adventure. Bike
Norikura Kogen is a nationally acclaimed bike destination for both road and mountain biking. From an epic hill climb to astounding single track, truly this is one of the mecca’s of bike in Japan. Come and enjoy one of our guided tours and see the real Norikura.
Local Fun
With attractions within a short walk from NORTHSTAR, Norikura Kogen provides many scenic points such as alpine flora, snow melt streams, waterfalls, and hot springs to enjoy. For the more the adventurous there are multiple peaks of Norikura or a side trip to Kamikochi, the gate way to the Northern Alps. About an hour’s drive away is Matsumoto Castle, Takayama’s “Little Kyoto”, and Shin Hodaka’s Ropeway which can take you to Nishi Hodaka’s Peak.
