Bike Activities
At NORTHSTAR we use a beginner curriculum which is based upon the International Mountain Bike Instructor Course (IMIC). It’s designed for those who have never ridden a mountain bike and want to start mountain biking and those who have mountain bikes but have not had a chance to ride trails. The 1 hour course covers basic techniques of riding on the trail such as: how to break, shift, understand correct balance and other needed skills. This will allow you to enjoy a genuine mountain biking experience in a safe manner.
Mountain Bike Fun Ride (90 min)
If you are looking for an exciting way to get outdoors and see all the best spots in beautiful Norikura Kogen, our Fun Ride mountain bike tour is an excellent way to do that. This tour is open to all beginner mountain bikers and safe and fun for the whole family. Give mountain biking a try with our trained mountain bike guides today!

Beginner Mountain Bike Tour (3h)
Ready to get off the road and onto the trails? NORTHSTAR’s Beginner Mountain Bike Lesson is designed to help you learn how to ride your bike and the trails. Our experienced guides will teach basic techniques of riding on the trails so you are prepared to enjoy a genuine mountain biking experience.

Family&Group Limited Tour (90 min to 3 hours)
This is a chartered guided tour for families and groups of 2 or more people.
Starting as 90-minute “Mountain Bike Fun Ride” and can be arranged to 3 hours according to your request.
For example, a family of four started a tour together, and the mother and daughter finished in 90 minutes. Dad and son can continue up to 3 hour tour.

Beginner E-Mountain Bike Tour (half day / full day)
Let’s enjoy the various trails that spread over Norikura Kogen on an E-Mountain Bike!
E-Mountain bike stands for electric assist mountain bike. The lessons cover basic techniques required for trail riding such as how to use brakes, derailleurs, electric functions, basic riding positions, etc. Lessons will cover how to control the bike both on and off the trail.
After basic lessons, we will depart to the trail. Your guide will choose trails according to your level and ability starting from flat trails to more intermediate trails as you progress in your riding.
Tour Distance:
- Half day: 8-10km (2.5-3 hours)
- Full day: 15-20km (5-6 hours)

Cost:
- Half day: ¥15,000/person
- Full day: ¥25,000/person

Private Tour
If you are participating alone or if the minimum number of participants for each tour is not reached, we will arrange a private tour. It’s private, so the pace and distance are tailored to the guest. Skill clinics are also available if needed.
