Mt. Norikura, Hirayu and Mt. Yake-dake
Experience the thrill of riding one of Japan’s top backcountry areas. This area belongs to southern part of Northern Japan Alps. Mt. Norikura has good snow all season long, as late as May. Hike from 2000 meters and challenge one of the peaks at 3026 meters, ride in the trees, and experience a natural half-pipe. Also Hirayu Onsen area, Gifu side of Mt. Norikura has deep dry powder! Mt. Yake is an active volcano and gives you unforgettable experience. Our experienced guides will adjust the tour according to the weather and your riding level.
Guiding fee:
¥57,000 (1day /up to 3 people)
- Additional fee: ¥19,000/person for a day
Up to 8 people for a group. Support guide will join for more than 5 people. - includes guiding fee, insurance, and sales tax.
Other fees:
Other fees related the tour such as lifts, lodging, transportation, etc for guides will be charged separately.

- Registration (8:30AM)
- Head to the backcountry field (9:00AM)
- Backcountry tour (9:30AM)
- Return to NORTHSTAR (3:00-4:00PM)
Required Equipment
Backcountry tours are intensive, so we require each guest to have the following equipment: Snowboard/skis, boots, ski/snowboard jacket and pants, backpack, avalanche beacon, probe, shovel, adjustable ski poles (for snowboarders), ski seals/snow shoes, water bottle, bento (lunch bag, only for day tours), snacks, extra goggles, extra gloves, and extra insulation jacket.
