Beginner Backcountry Tour
If you’re new to backcountry (outside the ski resort boundary), we recommend our Beginner Backcountry tour which you will learn about the avalanche and terrains, and practice how to use avalanche equipment.
In the field, you will learn how to hike easily, how to find safe spots and some of riding tips. Our guide will help you to enjoy backcountry safely.
Cost:
- Private (1 person): ¥35,000/person
- Semi-Private (2 people): ¥27,000/person
- Regular (3 or more people): ¥20,000/person
*Includes guiding fee, insurance, and sales tax. Bus fare and lift fare not included.
Detail information
Flow:
- Registration (8:30AM)
- Avalanche gea practice (8:45AM)
- Head to the backcountry field (10:00AM)
- Backcountry tour (10:30AM)
The hike will be two to three hours. The guide will choose the riding terrain according to the participants’ riding skills and the condition.
- Return to NORTHSTAR (3:00-4:30PM)
Required Equipment:
Backcountry tours are intensive, so we require each guest to have the following equipment: Snowboard/skis, boots, ski/snowboard jacket and pants, backpack(around 30L size), avalanche beacon, probe, shovel, adjustable ski poles (for snowboarders), ski seals/snow shoes, water bottle, food, snacks, extra goggles, extra gloves, and extra insulation jacket.
Rental Equipment:
We offer backcountry rental equipment including avalanche transceiver, probes, shovels, etc. Click here for more information.
For:
Expert snowboarder, skier and telemark skier who can ride at any snow conditions without falling at ski resort such as powder, deep snow, tracked out powder, etc.
